PRAYER & FAST NOTE #5

Encouragement for Your Fast

Today is day 11 of our 21-day fast, which means we are more than halfway through. I mention this because it's a good moment to pause and reflect on the past 10 days. Where has your focus been? What have you been hearing from the Lord? Where have your thoughts often turned to? Are you filling the gaps and hunger with other things than Christ? Have you been pushing through it to check a box or have you been slowing down to be with Christ? What is God doing within you?

Maybe you look back and you feel like nothing has happened. You expected to feel something different (besides hunger) and hear clearly from the Lord, but God seems silent. Maybe you are praying for things to shift and those things aren't changing yet. Maybe you expected to feel closer to God but you just feel like you have encountered more resistance. Or maybe you have sensed the Lord's nearness in new ways and feel renewed in your heart to seek Him like never before! No matter where you are, I want to encourage you to set a fresh resolve to press in and not pull back.

Today is a new day. It's the day that the Lord has made, and I am resolving to double-down on my seeking: I am resolving to pray God's Word back to Him with fresh boldness, clinging to His promises for me, for you, and for the Bay Area. I am resolving to slow down and be quiet before the Lord in greater ways, creating more space to hear the Spirit speak. I am resolving to walk my neighborhood daily and pray for the Kingdom to come! I invite you to join me on pressing in during this last half and to even journal your own fresh resolves for these last 10 days.

Let's leave it all on the field!
He is worthy of our whole hearts!
He promises to meet us as we seek Him!

Love you!
Pressing in with you,
- Pastor Christopher
