## **Encouragement for Your Fast**

The more I talk to people about the fast, the more I am encouraged. You have to know that you are not alone in what you are feeling and experiencing. There are so many people across our church who are leaning in, choosing to deny themselves, experiencing the resistance, the pain, the discomfort, the testing. And all the while saying it is *good*, that God is *moving*, that they *needed* this, that the *humbling* that is happening is *bearing* *fruit,* that there is *supernatural joy*. God isn't just looking at one person, He is looking at a people, and I sense that as He looks upon Resonate, He is pleased and is moved to respond to the faith and seeking that are taking place.

*Here are a few* ***encouragements*** *as you head into this last week:*

**(1)** **Worship louder**: raise your hands in joy, blast some music in your car and lift up a song of gratitude, be willing to look and sound foolish as you praise God. Something happens and shifts when we take the focus off of ourselves and place it on God and who He is. Sing your prayers, declare truth over your life and others. Gratitude and worship will fuel your weak bodies this week and fill your soul with joy that this world can't take away or dampen.

**(2) Pray with others:** while there is something intimate and beautiful about seeking God on your own, there is also something needed and powerful about coming together to sing, seek, pray, cry out in faith. The early church made a habit of it, especially as they fasted. If you haven't made it out to one yet, I highly encourage you to join us at your campus specific prayer night -- even make your MC a prayer gathering this week! Let's lock arms as we seek God this last week.

I sit here typing this with a heart of **gratitude**. I am so blessed to call this church my home, to call you my Gospel family and to follow Jesus alongside you. I am also so proud of you. I know you are seeking God and He is honored. Keep going, friends.
